![]() ![]() ![]() I consider this all this security risk so slim - we should not even think further than just ordinary precausions. I worked for three days manually downloading newer versions of windows update. At some point on windows 7 I did not update often enough(since there are bugfixes too) so even Windows Update did not find it's way. The total of it all - I had more issues with Windows Update itself - than any virus. You will rather win the lottery before anything bad happends. So we should not let us be ran by fear over this that much. Anti-virus create more issues than any virus I expect. Never even used anti-virus, other than just evaluating 30 days for each of 6-7 mostly known ones. Running PC since 1985, and obviously on a lot of BBS:es back in the day and as internet came online all days. I am running my XP online all day(writing this too) - now past 2014 and end of cycle for 5 years. Win10 has a ton of privacy settings you can turn off. MS also ends Win7 support in 2 days, you will no longer be getting security updates therefore your OS will become insecure if you remain on the internet.
